BSE Research Webinars feature quality papers and discussion during lockdown

illustration

From June 9-19, 2020 the Barcelona School of Economics held the BSE Research Webinars to provide an online venue for economists and researchers to debate their latest work with colleagues from all over the world. A total of 572 participants attended and 62 papers were presented during the online seminar programs.

The Research Webinars initiative arose when the coronavirus lockdown forced the cancelation of the 2020 edition of the BSE Summer Forum, which has been an annual meeting point in Europe for hundreds of international academics and researchers every summer since 2013. (The next BSE Summer Forum is scheduled for June 7-18, 2021.)

High-quality papers, useful comments

Organizers of six of the originally scheduled BSE Summer Forum 2020 workshops moved their events to the research webinar format. (Click on a topic below to view organizers, speakers, and papers for each webinar)

Comments from participants and organizers on Twitter made it clear that the Research Webinars maintained the quality of the papers and the discussion from the face-to-face Summer Forum Workshops:
