Aleix Ruiz de Villa holds a PhD in Mathematical Analysis and an MSc in Financial Mathematics from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. He is the former Head of Data Science at LaVanguardia.com and SCRM (developers of the Lidl international App), and former Chief Data Scientist at Onna. He is co-founder of the Barcelona R Users Group (2011-2017), founder of the Barcelona Data Science and Machine Learning Meetup, and board member of the Societat Catalana de Matemàtiques. Aleix is currently working as a freelance consultant on causal inference and machine learning.
