Omar Licandro

Omar Licandro is a Research Professor at the Institute for Economics Analysis (IAE-CSIC) and an Affilated Professor of the Barcelona School of Economics (BSE). He is currently on leave at the University of Leicester Business School. He is a Fellow of CESifo.

Professor Licandro was Secretary General of the International Economic Association (IEA) from 2013 to 2021, and he is currently the IEA Treasurer. He has been the Executive Secretary of the Research Institute for Development, Growth and Economics (RIDGE) since its foundation in 2014. He has been Associate Editor of Annales d’Economie et de Statistique, Investigaciones Económicas and the Spanish Economic Review, and a Research Fellow at the CEPR.

He served as Research Director of BSE from 2010-12 and the scientific leader of the BSE Severo Ochoa Award, 2011-2012.
