Julian di Giovanni named BSE Research Professor
Research Professorships are funded by the School's research endowment to increase the critical mass of top scientists in the BSE community.
Professor Julian di Giovanni (CREI, UPF and BSE) has been named BSE Research Professor by the School's leadership.
The distinction of BSE Research Professor is a joint appointment between the BSE and one of the School's academic units. The appointments began in 2009 to increase the critical mass of top scientists at the BSE.
Research Professorships are funded by the School's research endowment, which is dedicated exclusively to supporting these appointments. With the appointment of Professor di Giovanni, there are now 13 BSE Research Professors.
About Julian di Giovanni
Julian di Giovanni (PhD, University of California-Berkeley) is Associate Professor at Universitat Pompeu Fabra and Research Associate at CREI. He is also Research Fellow at CEPR.
Previously, he was Economist at the International Monetary Fund and Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto. His research focuses on the interaction between international trade and macroeconomic fluctuations.
