Alicia Adsera is a tenured Research Scholar and Lecturer at the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton University and a faculty affiliate at the Office of Population Research. She is a research fellow at IZA and CreAM. Previously she was Associate Professor at the University of Illinois Chicago and a Research Affiliate at the Population Research Center of the University of Chicago. She also taught at Ohio State University and Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona.
Her interests are in economic demography, development and migration. She works on the role of economic conditions on fertility decisions as well as several migration topics such as returns to language, welfare drivers of migration flows and labor market progression.
Her work has been published in the American Economic Review P&P, Economic Journal, Labour Economics, Journal of Population Economics, Journal of Law Economics and Organization, and Population Studies, among others.
She is the associate editor of Labour and of the European Journal of Population.
